We met at Montana State more than a decade ago, and took over these cabins in November 2024.
We both grew up in Colorado — Natalie in Crested Butte, EJ in the cow town of Greeley — but Montana is the place that kept hold of us. We came for school, found the same appetite for being outside in each other, and never left.
EJ has a degree in fish and wildlife and spent years with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, working the mountains, rivers and backroads of this state. He knows this water as well as anyone and has never once turned down a chance to fish it. Natalie spent five years looking after vacation homes in Big Sky, which is where she learned what makes a stay feel cared for rather than merely booked.
Buying this property was a plan we had carried for years. We fell for the cabins first and the valley second, and we wanted somewhere other people could feel what we feel standing out here at six in the morning.

Our two labs, who would tell you they own the place. If you see them working the property they are on important business — greeting arrivals, auditing the trails, and scouting for snacks.
New owners means a long list. Some of it is small — a better lamp, a straighter fence. Some of it is not:
Somewhere to cook a real dinner when the kitchenette isn't enough.
For the end of the day, when nobody wants to go inside yet.
Honey and Bo have been lobbying hard for this one.
If something would have made your stay better, tell us. We would rather hear it than not.
Six cabins on East River Road from April to October, and two tiny homes open the whole year round.
